Week 9

St. Joseph Robotics Competiton

Team Lance-A-Bot participated in the robotics competition hosted by St. Joseph High School. It was another great weekend for us, the team went all the way up to the finals match! Unfortunately, we did not win, but our alliance got 2nd place, which is still amazing!

We were chosen by the team captain of Alliance 3 #3452, the GreengineerZ, to join their alliance and we said yes. The team captain also chose team #5227, the Eagle Elite to join the alliance as well. When team Eagle Elites robot broke down partway through the playoffs, team #9758, Pantron-X took their place until the Eagles Elites could fix their robot and hop back in.

Our alliance pushed all the way to the finals, where our alliance was up against Alliance 1 which consisted of #2054, the Tech Vikes, #2767 Stryke Force, #5610 Turbulence, and #5501 the Bobcats. Both alliance fought very hard, but in the end Alliance 1 pulled out on top. Both alliances did a very good job in the competition!

In addition of earning the finalist award, we were also given the Sustainability award for our ability of recruiting and training of Team Lance-A-Bots members, as well as our participation in cleaning up a section of road on Red Arrow Highway for adopt-a-highway. We try to participate in this activity every year. We also host the FLL/Lance-A-Bot Mania event for kids in elementary school interested in robotics.

Overall we had a great time at the St. Joseph District event, and we hope St. Joseph High School continues to host this event! Thank you St. Joseph High School!
